Although coverage of Welsh affairs and presence of Welsh contributors were not as prominent in Erskine’s periodicals as in the case of Ireland, it was an important point of reference. Prominent Welsh contributors included poet and scholar Thomas Gwynn Jones, who also translated from Scottish Gaelic into English, and author and politician Edward Thomas John. In 1920, Alba featured a regular column ‘Litir às a’ Chuimrigh’ [A Letter from Wales].
