J. R. Duncan (no confirmed dates) made several English contributions to Guth na Bliadhna. Donald John MacLeod mentions Duncan in Twentieth-Century Gaelic Literature (University of Glasgow, 1969, p. 40) as one of the major contributors but does not add any personal information and does not indicate the name could be a pseudonym. Given the style and the topics, it may be Erskine himself.
