Francis Lützow

Francis Count Lützow (Czech: František hrabě Lützow; 21 March 1849, Hamburg – 13 January 1916, Montreux) was an author, historian, and politician. Born into an aristocratic family, Lützow became a diplomat, later a member of the Austrian parliament, and supported of Czech national revival and Czech independence from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He wrote a number of books on subjects from Czech history and culture and sought to promote these in the Anglophone world.
