Fr. Ewen MacEachen | Eòghann MacEachainn (1769–1849) was a Roman Catholic priest from Lochaber, who was later active in Braemar in Aberdeenshire. He was a prolific translator into Gaelic, including the New Testament, De Imitatione Christi by Thomas à Kempi, and Lorenzo Scupoli’s Il combattimento spirituale.
Erskine discussed his life and work in the short article ‘An “Leanmuinn” (Guth na Bliadhna XV: 2: Summer 1918), which opened a serialised publication of MacEachen’s translation of De Imitatione Christi in the quarterly.
