Eoin MacNeill (15 May 1867, Glenarm – 15 October 1945, Dublin) was an Irish scholar, Gaelic revivalist, nationalist, and politician. MacNeill co-founded the Gaelic League and was an expert on early Irish medieval history. His study Phases of Irish History was reviewed in Guth na Bliadhna in the article ‘Co-mhothachadh a thaobh Gineil’ (Winter 1919), most likely by Ruaraidh Erskine himself.
