Rev. Charles Moncrieff Robertson (1864 – 11 June 1927) was a Gaelic scholar from Strath Spey. He served as a minister at the Kilchoman United Free Church in Islay. His research focused on Gaelic dialects and placenames, and his papers appeared frequently in The Celtic Review and in the Transactions of the Gaelic Society of Inverness.
According to an obituary in the Transactions of the Gaelic Society of Inverness XXXII (1924-1925, published 1929, p. ix), he used the pseudonym ‘Dearg MacDhonnchaidh’ (Dargo Duncanson), after a Strath Spey traditional hero, for some of his writings, especially around 1900s. One of the tales from Am Bàrd was republished in An Deò-Gréine (Vol. XVII, Issue 10, 1922).
