A writer attributed as ‘A Government Official’ (no confirmed dates) contributed the series on ‘Celtic Renaissance and Industrial Revival’ to Guth na Bliadhna. The series was concluded by the following editorial note: ‘By way of sequel to these papers we propose to publish in the next number of this Review an article—to be followed by others on kindred topics—on the subject here so ably and interestingly treated of by our contributor, namely, Celtic metal-work. We should have preferred that the topic should be dealt with by the same accomplished pen; but, unfortunately, being ordered abroad on Government service, our contributor will be unable to afford our readers that pleasure. The topic will be dealt with, however, by one who has given considerable attention to the subject.’
This suggest ‘A Government Official’ was not Erskine himself but another writer yet unidentified.
