‘A. C.’

A writer using the initials ‘A. C.’ contributed an essay to Guth na Bliadhna. This could be Alexander Carmichael (1832-1912), who was using the initials when contributing to the Highlander. Ella Carmichael, Carmichael’s daughter who was a Celtic scholar and cooperated with her father, contributed to Am Bàrd, and there is evidence that Erskine would have been meeting the Carmichael family at events in Edinburgh. Erskine also wrote an elegy on Alexander Carmichael’s demise for Guth na Bliadhna.
